Because I can’t sit still, I’m coming to you 38 floors up in Downtown Seattle. The first day I got here, I had to walk walk walk, and a few clicks on stub hub later, I ended up at a Fred again show. Wandering can have its perks!

I got there a few minutes late, got to the floor, and started dancing in a crowd of strangers. It felt amazing. But after a few songs I noticed something. I was surrounded by big groups of friends who clearly loved each other. Fred again sings a lot about love, and taking care of each other, and in those songs, these big groups of friends would hug each other. And dance. It was like they were remembering the times they took care of each other, and were doing it again, right here, on an arena dance floor.

And now, here I am, after three days of strangers and networking and meetings, and I’m toast. I haven’t left bed yet this morning even though I really need to go. I’d rather sit here, writing to you.

So naturally, this all got me thinking about coming together. For parties, like this one. Or for no reason at all, because we miss each other.

Yes. What if we don’t need a reason to hug our friends and dance? It doesn’t have to be for a party, or any reason. Or even a show. It’s better when we’re together.

gtg, booking a flight to Buffalo for a long weekend in November!

Love you!

Lauren

P.S. The electroswing version of Liquid Love is out today!!! This is a fun one.
